Leading nucleon and inelasticity in hadron-nucleus interactions
We present in this paper a calculation of the average proton-nucleus inelasticity. Using an Iterative Leading Particle Model and the Glauber model we relate the leading particle distribution in nucleon-nucleus interactions with the respective one in nucleon-proton collisions. To describe the leading particle distribution in nucleon-proton collisions we use the Regge-Mueller formalism.
متن کاملAsymptotic properties of high-pT particle production in hadron-hadron, hadron-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions at high energies
The concept of z-scaling reflecting the general features of internal particle substructure, constituent interaction and mechanism of real particle formation is reviewed. Experimental data on the cross sections obtained at ISR, SpS and Tevatron are used in the analysis. The properties of data z-presentation, the energy and angular independencies, the power law, Aand F -dependencies, are discusse...
متن کاملFluctuations and Correlations in hadron-hadron and nucleus-nucleus collisions and String Percolation
Forward-Backward correlations in pp(pp̄) and Nucleus-Nucleus collisions are discussed in the framework of the string percolation model. The point we want to stress is that such correlations, at low energy, increase with energy and the number of participants, at high energies they are extected to decrease with energy and the number of participating nucleons. At RHIC and LHC these predictions can ...
متن کاملThe multiplicity of particle production from hadron-hadron and nucleus-nucleus interaction
The particle production in hadron-nucleon (h-N), hadron-nucleus (h-A) and nucleus-nucleus (A-A) collisions at high energies are studied in view of the multi-peripheral model. A multi-peripheral T-matrix element is assumed with multi surface parameter that is functionally dependent on the number of particles in the final state and control the kinematical path of the reaction. A Monte Carlo code ...
متن کاملΞ− and Ω distributions in hadron–nucleus interactions
Strange baryons have long been known to exhibit a leading particle effect. A recent comparison of Ξ− production in π− , n, and Σ− interactions with nuclei show this effect clearly. These data are supplemented by earlier measurements of Ξ− and Ω production by a Ξ− beam. We calculate the Ξ− and Ω xF distributions and nuclear dependence in hA interactions using the intrinsic model. PACS: 12.38.Lg;...
